The Baby Parade 2013 is Out!

Kason has been learning more and more this week! He figured out that he can reach the keys on the piano this week and has been playing a lot! He is babbling lots more and says “Dada” now most of the day. He usually saves “Mama” for when he really wants something!  He did some more shooting on the basketball hoop in our living room. He figured out that putting it through the hoop got a good reaction, so he was doing it over and over one night this week! He has been playing lots with Nathan and Brooke this week. He loves watching Nathan, and Nathan does a good job of playing with him. Brooke and Kason seem to have a good time together too! He has officially mastered the “zerbit”. He can give some great ones on your cheek! He has been eating more and more solid foods.  He likes to eat fruits and vegetables cut up, so he can feed himself. He also had meatballs this week which he loved!

Kason also had a bit of a hiccup in his sleeping routine last week. He was waking up every hour for a few nights in a row, and we noticed that he was pulling his ear when we got him from his crib.  On top of the runny nose he has had, we suspected he had an ear infection again. We took him in on Monday, but the doctor said his ears look great! He did say though that sometimes the teething can cause a runny nose which can put pressure on the Eustachian tubes at nights.  We are going to blame it on that for now! The good news is that since we knew he wasn’t sick, we could be confident that he is feeling okay. He is now back to his normal sleeping routine from 9ish-5ish. We are more than happy about that! We also got his latest weight at the appointment! He weighs 23 lbs. 2 oz. which is still the 95% and he is still over 100% in height. We are grateful for our big boy!

On Monday, I went into the office with Kason after his appointment. It was a pretty uneventful day without my Monday night volleyball. Tuesday I did lots of housework while Kolt was at school.  I had Brooke and Nathan in the evening and also a little on Thursday to help Natalie as she recovers from her surgery.  I had volleyball practice in the evening. We played the Wave drill to get ready for the games this weekend.  My mom and I watched the finale of our weekly TV show that we have been watching over the winter.  It has been nice to have something to do when it gets dark early, but now that things are warming up, it’s nice to have another open night. We didn’t do much for St. Patrick’s Day, but we did get some pictures and remembered to wear green!

Wednesday I went into work and Kolt had school. Kolt has been helping a classmate study for the upcoming Anatomy and Physiology exam.  Both he and his friend improved drastically on the test last week—so much that his professor asked them both about it.  She suggested that he register to work for the school as a tutor and asked if he would help a few additional students.  I think Kolt is excited about that, and he does a good job at remembering what they are taught.  After work, I did some grocery shopping in town.  Kason was a great sport for a long day.  We dropped his hat somewhere in Walmart, but I’m grateful that someone turned it in, so Kolt could pick it up on his way home.  For dinner, I made a Copycat Olive Garden Chicken & Gnocchi Soup.  It wasn’t exactly a “Check Plus”, but it is fun to try new things, and it was still edible!

On Thursday I printed checks at work. Kolt picked up Kason late in the afternoon. I decided to bring the walker to work this week. Kason had a good time in it and visited many of the other people in the office and even made a trip to the microwave to watch someone cook their lunch. He loves to eat when others are eating. Kason went to Grandma Piquet’s on Thursday evening while Kolt went to Pocatello and I did homework. I was able to get everything done that I needed to before spring break.

On Friday Kolt and I attended the wedding of my cousin, Jeremy Dalling and his wife Natalie Webster.  It was a really nice sealing. We were grateful to be able to attend. Shauna was awesome to watch Kason while we were there. We went back to pick up Kason before the luncheon and stayed to visit a while.  Kason and Paisley have a good time playing with their toys together.  We had a nice luncheon at BYU-I. Natalie, Nathan, Brooke, and Grandma were with us there. Kason sat with Cousin Nichole for a little bit while we dished up! I sure miss Nichole and don’t see her often enough! On Saturday afternoon, I did some homework with my Capsim group over Skype. Kolt took Kason to take Rope to his basketball open gym.  We took Rope to meet Piquet’s at Reagan Streeper’s wedding reception in Ucon. It was a pretty reception, and Reagan and her husband looked happy. After the reception, we had dinner at the Ucon Diner with Grandpa Piquet, Paisley, Shauna, and Rope.  Kason was a good boy and liked sharing some of Mom’s potatoes and Paisley’s grilled cheese sandwich. 

 

On Saturday, Kason and I went to volleyball at the Zone in Rexburg.  It was a long successful day! The girls were a lot more comfortable playing, although we didn’t get any 3-hits this week from either team. Kason spent the day with help from lots of moms. I’m so grateful for help! Kason was a pretty good boy and had fun with some of the girls during our breaks.  Kolt spent the day finishing working on the trailer and studying at the school.  In the evening, we went over to Cameron and Ashley High’s new home.  Cameron and Ashley are going on a trip in 2 weeks for 10 days.  Kolt and I are going to stay at their home and watch 4 of their 5 children.  We babysat on Saturday night to get to know the kids and figure out what we were in for. J The kids were great, and Kolt and I are excited to find out what having 5 kids is like! The biggest plus is that Kason loved being with the kids.  He was completely content to follow them around.  Kolt also played basketball with the older 3 boys and many other kids in the neighborhood for almost 3 hours. He couldn’t complain at all!

On Sunday I played the organ and Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson. I also accompanied a lady in our ward singing in her sister’s ward at 11, so Kolt was lucky enough to get to teach with Kason which was interesting! We had a nice ward conference in our ward.  The musical number went okay considering I got the music this morning.  Good thing Sister Bratt and her sister are very talented. They covered up my mistakes! We had a slow Sunday evening. My parents left for Las Vegas for 5 days, and Kolt’s parents left for Iowa for a week. We are not sure what we are going to do without them this week! It will be an adventure! We sure love our family. We have enjoyed watching the NCAA games this week and watching our brackets fall apart.  It is fun to do the family bracket challenge with our families.  

The Baby Parade 2013 also came out today.  Kason, Kylen and Paisley were in it this year! Kason even got an extra picture inside the front cover for being related to a Post Register employee. I think I will forever pay for forgetting about the photo shoot for the front cover. Since we were late, Kason didn’t get to be part of the big group, but it is fun to see him be mentioned! Every year since I was a little girl, I have looked at the Baby Parade edition from the Post Register. I remember years that I kept it to look at for the entire year until the next year came out. It’s fun to see Kason be part of it now!

The Season Has Begun!!

We have had a warmer spring week! Here’s Kason’s udpates: Kason is a fast crawler! He sneaks into the bathroom and up the stairs every time I take my eye of him. He is getting lots more dark hair. He loves to give kisses to Grandma Lindley and in the last couple weeks started giving them pretty freely to anyone who wants one! They are GOOD kisses! He loves to clap his hands. He waves, but mostly only to his reflection in the window or at himself in the mirror.  He loves to go on walks outside in the stroller with anyone who is willing to take him.  He is an outside boy like his dad! He has been quite the eater lately and a great sleeper. Not too much to complain about that way! We sure love him. He is the joy of our lives!

On Monday, I made a mini-couponing trip to see how much I liked it. I learned that it’s not very fun to do alone. I also learned that it’s much better to buy the deals in bulk. I also learned that it’s a good idea to do the homework by yourself because prices are different everywhere. I ended up getting 11 items for around $13.  It may take a few weeks to do it again. Once school gets over, I will have much more time to do the homework before the weekly couponing trip. Kason came to work with me while I printed checks at work. Kolt studied all morning for his test at 1.  Monday evening we played our last 2 games of the volleyball tournament at The Zone.  We won both and won my second championship in a row there! We missed Natalie who got surgery on Monday! Grandma Piquet, Shauna & Paisley even came to watch! It was really fun! I’m going to miss that weekly volleyball!

On Tuesday I did made a visiting teaching visit early in the morning, then rushed home because Lexi Schiess  was at my house! Lexi played with me at Western and is one of the neatest people I have ever met! She is probably the only person who can quote the movie She’s The Man better than I can!  We talked and talked for almost 6 hours. We barely got lunch in before she had to go. Kason loved Lexi and her husband Brenn when he got there! It was a super fun day! On Tuesday evening, I had volleyball practice with the 10 year olds. It was a busy practice trying to teach the girls how to play 6 on 6 before the tournament on Saturday. I am grateful for Jeanna to help me!

On Wednesday, I spent the day doing homework. Kolt and I met at our Life Insurance Agent’s office in the afternoon to finalize our policy.  We left a note on Grandma Piquet’s car while she was at work just across the street from the office.  As we drove out, we passed her! Later in the afternoon, Kason and I went swimming in the hot tub. It’s more of a “warm” tub now since we turned it down, so it’s not so hot for Kason. He loved swimming. He splashed and splashed and kept trying to drink the water. We are hoping to do that a lot this summer. 

On Thursday I went to work for a few hours. Grandma Piquet, Rope & Brand picked up Kason on the way home. He went for walks, watched the boys play basketball outside, went to Relief Society with Grandma, ate soup with Grandpa and took a bath with Grandma. He sure loves his Grandma & Grandpa Piquet! Kolt had a GRE Prep Session offered through ISU and played basketball at the Milo Church house, and I had my Thursday night class. 

Friday I went to work and left Kason home with Kolt, and then took an exam in the evening. Kason went to Natalie’s house with Grandma Lindley. He loves being with Grandma Lindley! We went over to pick him up. Grandpa Lindley made waffles for dinner. We did a little shopping in the evening.

On Saturday, Kason and I left at 6 for Teton High School. We spent the day in the gym. The first tournament was a success! One team got 2 3-hits over the net, and the other team got 2 3-hits but none of them went over. It was a fun day. Kason was a great sport for such a long day! Kolt spent the day helping his Grandpa, stacking hay, and working on my parents’ horse trailer. In the evening, Kason and I went shopping with Grandma Piquet, Shauna & Paisley for some Easter outfits for Kason and Paisley’s pictures together in a week. We got the cutest matching outfits for pictures! I can’t wait! We hit Arctic Circle for dinner and ice cream. I even shared a little bit of my ice cream with Kason. He was more than thrilled about that! 

Sunday was a busy day at church for the Piquet’s! Thank you Grandma Lindley for helping us! I played the organ, Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson, I subbed as chorister in Primary, and Kolt helped teach the Sharing Time lesson in Primary as well. I learned one thing from today! I look up to Primary choristers! That is one tough job! We sure have a good one in our ward! I am thankful for Sister Braithwaite for getting everything ready for me beforehand! I didn’t have to do much, but it is definitely out of my comfort zone! Kolt did a good job teaching at Joseph Smith as well.  After church, we went to choir practice. We had a yummy dinner with the Lindley’s. Kason played with Nathan and Brooke for a while in the evening and then went on a walk with Grandpa & Grandma Lindley.

Jackson Hole Volleyball Tournament

Kason hit 8 months old last Monday! I can’t believe how quickly he is growing up! Kason is getting a fun personality! He likes to be shy around new people, but is quite a character at home.  He still loves to be around other kids especially his cousins.  He is entertained for hours when he is around them. He likes to move along the furniture, from tables, chairs, office desk drawers and couches.  He got his first bruise this week on his forehead from standing up to a drawer in my desk and having the drawer slide out, causing him to lose his balance! He still hasn’t learned his lesson with that one yet! It is obvious he likes being outside! I have been taking him on walks when I can! Grandpa and Grandma Lindley took him on a walk the other evening, and Kason loved it. He sure didn’t want them to block the wind from his face with the blanket because he couldn’t see! Kason also learned how to slide down the stairs this week, as long as Dad reminds him! He is a magnet for the stairs and bathroom now, so we are seriously baby proofing!

Monday I spent the day writing a 10 page paper for my capstone class while Kolt watched Kason.  I am really lucky that Kolt doesn’t have a full day of classes Monday.  In the evening, Kason and I went to volleyball at the Zone while Kolt stayed home to finish homework.  Aunt Natalie and Teresa Ure both helped watch Kason during the games.  He was pretty tired and grumpy most the night which I felt bad about! They were great to keep him for me while we played! We are in our first week of tournament. The championship is tonight.

On Tuesday I went into work to pass out folders for checks. Kason came to work with me. I ordered my cap and gown after work.  I’m getting really excited to graduate. Only 8 weeks left! On Tuesday evening, I made Alfredo Broccoli Pasta and Cheesy Bacon Potato Bites. It was really good! All of us went to volleyball for the 10 year old practice.  Kason rode in the stroller while I coached. Kolt even got to set for the wave drill at the end of practice.

Wednesday I had a long day at work printing checks.  I had a lot of help from Dave, one of my coworkers, who entertained Kason for a while with the window and 10-key typewriter at his desk.  In the evening, Kason and I went and watched some of the older kids at volleyball practice.

On Thursday, I did laundry for the weekend and went visiting teaching.  Kason had a great time playing with the toys our visiting teaching sister laid out for him.  For dinner, I made White Chicken Chili soup. Definitely a “Check Plus” in our books!  Kason had grandma’s day with Grandma Piquet while Kolt was in Pocatello for his lab, and I was in a study group for my independent study class.  Kason loved taking a bath with Grandma and having a few chocolate chips with Grandpa Piquet.

On Friday, I worked a long day to catch up while Kason stayed home with Kolt.  When I got home, we packed up for the Annual Jackson Hole Women’s Volleyball Tournament.  This is my 3^rd year going to Jackson with this team. It is definitely the highlight of March! We left for Jackson at 4. We won our pool in the evening.  Grandma Lindley and Kolt watched Kylen and Kason. Grandpa Lindley came with Kamrie Saturday morning. We stayed in a nice suite with everyone on Friday evening, and Kason reminded us why he doesn’t sleep with us. J Without fail, he manages to wake up 7 or 8 times a night when he sleeps in our bed! He might be a little like his mother by wanting to be left alone when she sleeps!

On Saturday, we played another pool and then had the tournament. Kason had a good time with dad in the stroller and crawling around on the floor. We got 3^rd which was great considering the competition. There were a lot of younger players who just graduated college.  We did pretty well considering the fact that we don’t play together regularly.  On the way home, we stopped for ice cream in Swan Valley, a tradition for us! We stopped at Grandma & Grandpa Piquet’s on the way home. We watched Hunger Games and had pizza. Kason had a great time playing with Paisley and mooching food off of everyone’s plate! Kason had a great bath with Grandma Piquet and then fell asleep for the night on the car ride home.

On Sunday, I played the organ and Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson. I’m subbing as the Primary chorister next week, so I spent the last 2 hours watching her, so I’d know what to do next week. I did catch a part of the Relief Society lesson about families. My mom shared a little bit about our families along with some other sisters.  I left feeling re-motivated to have FHE and family prayer.  We stayed for choir after church. We sing in a couple of weeks.

8 MONTHS

-Around 23 pounds and 30 inches long

-Got 2 TEETH this month! Ouch!!

-Mostly 12 month clothes and some 18 month clothes

-CRAWLS UP STAIRS now! And down them too, but not so happily :)

-Size 4 diapers

-Likes walks in the stroller and swinging on the swing set

-Learned to scream! Great!

-Hardly ate for 2 weeks when he got his teeth in!

-Some New Foods this Month: cheese, cherries, blueberries, eggs and

-Crawls all over! Starting to be braver and crawl to new things!

-Eats lots of meats, fruits and vegetables!

-Learned to put his binky in his mouth and turn it right side up

-On and off with sleeping at night, but on most nights, he sleeps from 10-5

-Can cluck his tongue 

-Has clapped and waved once!

-Crawls on his hands and feet when he is on hard floors

-Decided he kinda likes apple juice!

-Favorite place to play is in the bathroom! Of course! :(

-Pulls himself to standing up to couches, chairs and all kinds of toys
-Turning into a little bit of a Mamma's boy
-Starting to show a fun personality!

Uncle Brand's Championship

It is hard to believe Kason is 8 months old today! Time has been flying! Yesterday Kason did two new things! When Aunt Ashley came for dinner on Sunday, she waved at Kason, and he waved back! Later in the evening, we were watching a basketball game on TV, and Kason clapped for the first time. His hands even made a sound this time! He was pretty excited about his accomplishment! Kason is getting to be more of a crawler. He used to be pretty content to just stay by people or crawl toward someone, but now he is getting braver and venturing away. He is attracted to outlets and the stairs! He has officially fallen down a couple of stairs this week. He is getting tough J On Wednesday night, I was folding laundry in the back room and Kolt ran some garbage outside.  When Kolt came back inside, Kason had moved from the living room up to the landing by the front door. I didn’t believe it, so we coaxed him again with a basketball, and he did it without any problem! He loves going up the stairs now, but has lost balance a couple of times and fallen, so we have been using the baby gate to keep him from going up. He doesn’t think that’s too fun! He is also turning into quite the shy boy lately.  He likes to smile at people and then lay his head on mom’s shoulder to get a little reinforcement.  He is getting quite the personality!

On Monday, Kason went to work with me, so Kolt could take a test in the testing center and had class. In the evening, we went to volleyball. Kolt and Kason came to watch again which I love! We finally played the earlier games, so it was nice to get home a little earlier than usual.  We did a good job of getting behind in several of the games and then making a comeback.  We ran out of diapers in the diaper bag, so Kason and Kolt made a quick trip to Walmart during the games to get some.

Tuesday was a warm day, so Kason and I went for a walk with Grandma to the Post Office and the park.  Kason was really tired before we left, so I thought he’d fall asleep. I was definitely wrong! He loved riding in the stroller and checking everything out. We went down the slide at the park. Kason’s favorite thing to do was swing on the swing set! We also did laundry and sent out some mail on Tuesday.  I made tacos for dinner, and then we went to the Bonneville boys basketball game against Century for the district championship.  Kolt enjoyed the game, but the highlight for me was sitting by Makayla and her family! I am feeling pretty good about seeing her twice on this Idaho trip!

On Wednesday, Kason and I went to work for a couple hours.  When we got home, Kason took a nap and then we went outside with Kamrie.  We played on the tramp for a little bit and then got to swing on the swing set at Erin Klingler’s house next door. They both had a great time. It is nice to get out after a whole winter inside! I had volleyball practice and Kolt and Kason went to Brand’s district tournament against Sandcreek.  I have 18 girls on the 2 10 year old volleyball teams this year, so there is a court full for sure, but we managed to work on some hitting footwork this week! I made it to the last bit of Brand’s game! It was close until the end, but they pulled out a win!

On Thursday, I had a homework day at home with Kason while Kolt went to class.  Brand had his district championship game against Madison at RMMS.  Kason dressed up in his basketball onesie for the game, and Kolt and I even managed to coordinate some purple and gold for the game. One of us was excited about that! J My class meeting was cancelled again, so I got to go to the game which I was excited about! It was another close game, but they worked hard for a win! Brand played great! Kolt and I have enjoyed watching Brand grow as a basketball player this season.  We took lots of pictures after the game.  I finally got a 4 generations picture of my boys with Great Grandpa Monte Piquet, Grandpa Shane Piquet, Kolt Monte Piquet, and Kason Kolt Piquet. I’m so grateful that Kason is so close with his grandparents and great grandparents.  He comes from a special Piquet family and has some great role models in his life. 

On Friday, I ran into work and left Kolt with Kason for the morning.  We met in town for our dentists appointments.  We have been trying to sort out insurances and balance schedules to get to the dentist for a few months, so we were relieved to finally get in.  As much as I dislike the dentist, I sure feel like a new woman with clean teeth! We had them spaced out, so we could balance Kason and even do some grocery shopping in between. It ended up being a long time in town, but we got lots done.  Kolt and I both got off the hook at the dentist. No cavities for us this time! In the evening, we went out with our good friends, Stetson & Tenae Saxton and their 5-month old baby Jace. We met at the Copper Rill Restaurant for dinner that our longtime family friend, Shandi, opened.  It was delicious! I got some Asian noodles and chicken, and Kolt got Italian Sausage pasta.  We both liked them so much that we didn’t even share with each other! We had a great time visiting with Stetson and Tenae.  We definitely don’t get out with friends enough! After dinner, we came back to our house and let Jace and Kason play.  They had a great time together. We are hoping to do something with the Saxton’s again soon!

On Saturday morning, we got up early to clean the church with my parents.  I think we made record time! Kason was not such a fan of us cleaning so much, so we spent some time practicing the organ together.  At noon, we went to Frozen at the ISU IF campus.  They served lunch and treats.  There were lots of people there! Natalie, Nathan & Brooke came and also Jason & Marie Dalling and their kids came. We loved the movie! I have been listening to the music since. My favorite is the song that the Piano Guys did.  After the movie, we did a little shopping in town and then picked up some pizza from JenniJen’s in Rigby to take out to our craft party at Shauna & Landon’s.  My cousin opened up JenniJen’s just 2 weeks ago, so we have been anxious to try it! It was delicious! We loved the Hawaiian and BBQ Chicken. The breadsticks were great too! It was fun to see Jenn and Clay and visit for a few minutes too! I had a great craft night with Shauna!! The St. Patrick’s Day decorations were probably our best work so far! I am loving them! Kolt and Landon watched Paisley & Kason while watching Clinton Anderson.  They were good sports! Kason and Paisley sure have a fun time playing together. 

We had a good Sunday yesterday. I played the organ and Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson. Kason needed a nap during the entire block, but would not give except 10 minutes during Priesthood. We had a great Relief Society lesson about love and charity.  I definitely have some things to work on in that department! Kolt and I both spent the evening studying. Ashley made yummy teriyaki rice bowls for dinner, and Natalie made some delicious brownies for dessert! Kason had a bit of a grumpy afternoon until the cousins came over.  He loves watching them and taking in everything that they do.  Brooke and he have a good time together. Kason just watches her closely as she walks around.  I think it is just killing him that he can’t. I definitely think that Kason grows a lot watching his older cousins and learns a lot of new skills from them.

Two Teeth!!

Kason has had quite the week! After several days of being grumpy, Kason got his second tooth on Sunday.  We are hoping to get him back to his normal self soon! He finally got back into his regular sleeping schedule at night. It took a night of letting him cry for him to figure it out again! We are a much happier family with our sleep! Since he learned how to stand up in his crib, we had to lower the mattress this last week.  He is pretty cute when he sleeps at night. He usually falls asleep on his pillow on his belly with his legs underneath his and his butt up in the air.  It is pretty cute! He now can put his pacifier in his mouth all by himself and even turn it around, so it’s right side up. He likes moving in his walker and is pretty fast now. He now likes to open the drawers in the kitchen too!  He likes watching the cars out the window and waiting for Dad to get home.  Kason learned how to drink out of a straw this week! He stared at me drinking out of my mug at work, so I put it in his mouth and sucked right away. He thought he was pretty cool! He is getting a fun personality. It is fun to see him learn and grow!

On Monday I went into work a little later than normal.  Kolt didn’t have school, so Kason stayed with him. On my way, I got a reminder about the Baby Photo Shoot at the Post Register.  Kason, along with 5 other babies, are going to be on the front cover of the Baby Parade 2013 magazine.  It is pretty fun to think that I have looked at that magazine for many years, using it to pick out baby names, and now my own baby is going to be on the cover! I’m a proud mama! Kolt rushed Kason over to the Post Register, and we dressed him in the overalls that they requested.  He got to wear some overalls that Uncle Kevin and Uncle Tyler wore as babies! He was a little too big for them, but they worked for the picture! They had a cute background set up with hay bales and little John Deere tractors.  Kason didn’t smile in any of the group photos (probably due to a dirty diaper that we didn’t have time to change!), but he smiled and smiled in his individuals! The pictures looked great though, and I’m excited to get them in a few weeks! I made a new Teriyaki Chicken recipe in the crockpot and took some over to Natalie and her family. On Monday evening, Kolt and Kason came with me to volleyball. We beat both teams with five! I sure enjoy playing volleyball. It is a good release from the week!

On Tuesday morning, we visited one of our visiting teaching ladies.  She likes to see Kason each month. We had a new Barbecue Chicken recipe in the crockpot. I really like trying new recipes! Kolt took Kason out to Brand’s basketball game at Rigby and I went to my first club volleyball practice with the 10 year olds.  Brand’s team won by 3. Volleyball practice was great. The girls are excited and seemed to be really coachable this first week. I’m hoping that continues. It is nice to have Jeanna to help me coach. One of the girls that I coached last year named Paisley kept looking at my funny through the whole first half of the practice.  On a break, she came over to me and asked, “Did you have a baby?” I think she was trying to figure out why I had a big belly last season and didn’t bring any baby to show for it! It will be good to bring Kason next week, so Paisley isn’t so confused! 

On Wednesday, I worked on homework and ran into work just to pass out folders.  On our way home, we stopped by Kolt’s school and ate lunch with him. Kolt won a medal at the school’s Olympics during lunch.  Kason got to wear his medal for the day which he was quite fascinated by! We went to Brand’s basketball game at Rocky Mountain against Mountain View.  We hurried back just in time for our home teachers to come visit.  We are grateful for good home teachers who always visit us.  Kason has sure grown a lot since we got our new home teachers.

On Thursday, I went to work and printed checks.  It was a long day and Kason was a bit of a pill, but we made it through! I’m so grateful for good co-workers who don’t mind having Kason in the office. Kason started venturing away from my desk this week.  He crawled around and checked things out this week. He thought he was pretty special. J Kolt had his lab in Pocatello and my class got cancelled, so I stayed home with Kason. He was pretty grumpy, so I spent most of the night holding him.  Hopefully, since his tooth came in, he will be happier.

On Friday I went into work and left Kason with Kolt, since he didn’t have school.  Kason and I enjoyed watching the Olympics. We did some shopping in the evening.   We got Kason a couple of sippy cups and a new high chair. He didn’t think much of it to start, but he likes it more now.  It is nice to have a bigger tray, so he can feed himself more and spill on the floor less.  He really likes his new sippy cups and even had a sip of my Jamba Juice that we got on the way home.

On Saturday morning, we got up early to be at the temple at 6 AM for Institute Baptisms for the Dead.  It is always nice to be in the temple, and there were a good group of kids there.  After the temple, we had breakfast at Alyssa’s house.  It was yummy! We got home in time to meet Grandma, Grandpa and Kason at Evan’s last basketball game. He even scored a basket!! Kolt helped his dad work on his truck until his appointment to tutor one of the kids in his class.  After the session, he met another classmate at our house to study for another class.  I made some caramel popcorn for a little brain food.  While Kolt was working on the truck, Kason stayed with Grandpa Lindley while Grandma Lindley, Ashley and I went to Endless Love at the movie theater.  It was cute show about two high school sweethearts, so it was perfect for me.  Kason had a great nap with Grandpa while we were gone.  In the evening, Grandma Lindley watched Kason while I took a test in one of my online classes.  I’m so grateful for family close by to help us when we need it!

On Sunday morning, we got up and did our usual routine.  I played the organ, Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson, and I substituted in the sunbeams class.  Kason took a nice nap during Sacrament Meeting, came with me during singing time in Primary, and then went to Priesthood during the Primary class.  It was a successful Sunday at church.  I made dinner for the family on Sunday afternoon.  It was a yummy chicken salad bar with more toppings than anyone could dream of!  In the evening, Kolt went home teaching and Makayla came to visit! We had a great evening talking and catching up on lots of things! We definitely live too far away! I’m so glad her parents moved back to Iona, so I can still run into her every time she’s home!
