Our Babysitting Week & Our New Horse!!!

We have had a fun week and a half watching Cameron and Ashley High’s 4 kids. Ashley has been a friend for a long time! They used to live in our ward several years ago, and I often babysat their kids, so we know them well! We watched 3 boys (ages 9, 7, and 5) and one of their girls (age 3).  She and her husband went to Maui for 11 days, so we stayed at their house and watched their kids while they were gone.  We had a great time! There have been lots of fun times and lots of crazy times with Kason and 4 of her kids. Kolt and I have learned a lot about having kids and parenting.  During the first week,  the kids were on spring break, so they were home all day.  We tried hard to keep them busy! Kolt has had classes, and I have been working on my homework at nights as well as logging into work and printing checks from their house and running into work late at nights.  Here’s brief rundown of our adventures with 5 kids:

Monday—Arrived at High’s home at 6 AM, unloaded the car and tried to unpack, ordered tickets early in the morning for the Scotty McCreery concert at BYU-I, Kolt played lots of basketball with the boys, played Scrabble with the boys, played Memory with Brooke, corn dogs and grapes for lunch, 2 oldest boys practiced piano, gave up my plan to keep the house spotless while they were gone J haha, Brooke did my hair a lot, watched Frozen, raced on the blowup toys at Blast-Off—TIRED!!, made Chicken Noodle Soup and rolls for dinner—YUM!!

Tuesday-Kolt and I dropped the kids off at their Aunt’s house in the afternoon and headed to Utah for Kolt’s 1^st Villahermosa Mission Reunion at the City Creek Mall.  They had a pretty meeting room for us and there were lots of missionaries there.  I felt blessed to meet many of the missionaries Kolt has told me about as well as his mission president, who was called to be an Area 70 at General Conference.  Kolt was one of the few married and the only one with a baby.  Kason was great to meet everyone and fell asleep while we were there.  On the way home, we stopped by my friend Candace Ross’ home to visit with her and husband and family.  I love her so much and am so glad to see her every time we come down. We often go weeks without talking, but when we are together, it’s like nothing has changed! We were pretty tired driving home that night, but we made it!

Wednesday-Kolt went to classes for the day, I picked up kids early in the morning, kids let me take a short nap—THANK YOU!, went on a bike ride, watched Frozen, got kids’ meals at McDonald’s and played on the toys, went into work after kids in bed

Thursday-showers/baths, Kason turned 9-months old, worked a little in the afternoon, watched Frozen, went to volleyball with the Bonneville 18s to help them practice (I’m getting old!), Aunt Shauna and Grandma watched Kason for the evening, Kolt stayed with High kids, went and rode horses out at Piquet’s, kids loved riding the horses, Kolt, the High boys and the Piquet boys played basketball for hours, kids were tired!! 

Friday-Kolt watched kids while I ran into work to print checks, played Clue, watched Frozen, went out to Piquet’s to ride horses again, boys couldn’t get enough of it, Aunt Shauna did Brooke’s hair—SO CUTE!!, Carter played on Grandma Piquet’s phone, kids had a great time

Saturday-Took the kids to build a Rio 2 Bird House at Home Depot, kids were great painters, went to the Annual ISU Spring carnival, kids got LOTS of candy, Brooke won a raffle prize, played lots of games, watched the afternoon session of General Conference, played Conference Bingo, kids were quite competitive, Grandma High came in the evening to give us a little break, moved some stuff home, Kolt went to Priesthood session with Grandpa Lindley, I stayed home with Kason and Grandma—felt like I was missing a few kids!, went to Jacob Stucki & Hailey Gneiting’s reception (Jacob is a longtime Piquet family friend and we graduated from high school with Hailey), came home and slept great!

Sunday-watched both sessions of conference, caught up on homework for the week, had breakfast for lunch with the Lindley’s between sessions, went back to High’s early evening, ate meatballs and pasta for dinner (Thanks Grandma High!), Kolt studied for a test this week with a friend in the evening.

Kolt and I really enjoyed watching General Conference.  I enjoyed the Women’s Broadcast, and Kolt shared lots of things with me from the Priesthood Session. We are so grateful for prophets and modern day revelation.  One of our goals is to be better with Family Home Evening on Monday nights.

Monday-Kids went back to school—YAY!!!, made lunches, sent kids on bus at 7:25, took Kason and 2 younger kids to Kason’s 9-month appointment, Kason is doing great!!-- (more details below), stopped at Albertson’s to catch some good sales, kids played outside lots after doing homework, picked up Arby’s and went to a park for dinner, kids tired tonight!

Tuesday-lunches, bus, shower/baths, enjoyed a little nap while kids at school and younger 2 taking naps, kids wanted to open a lemonade stand after school, kids drank all the lemonade earlier in the week, decided to open an Apple Juice stand instead, kids made some good money, Kolt watched kids while I went to the 10 year old volleyball practice with Kason, girls were a little giggly at practice, but got it together by the end--thank goodness!, ran into work after everyone was in bed

Wednesday-kids had early release at school, worked a little today, kids wanted to open up the Apple Juice stand again, couldn’t find more apple juice, decided to make freshly squeeze orange juice, accidently added too much water, so they tried selling candy instead, took the kids to Orange Leaf in the evening, all the kids loved it, Kason even got a few bites and couldn’t get enough!, kids all ready to see Mom and Dad!

Thursday-got kids off to school early, worked a little bit, did a little homework for night class, kids tried to make lemonade from lemon juice for lemonade stand, did homework, made welcome home banner for parents, hung it up on the door, Mom and Dad got home, kids so excited, Kason and I went home and ate dinner before my night class, Kason went on a walk with Grandpa and fell asleep for the night, Kolt got home from Pocatello lab late

Looking back through this, we have done a lot! We are so grateful for the opportunity to do this for Cameron and Ashley. While it wasn’t all roses, we had lots and lots of rewarding moments. Kolt and I are much more prepared to have a big family of our own.  We are grateful the High’s let us stay in their beautiful new home.  We have enjoyed being around those kids a lot because they are such good kids and have felt weird the last few days, since we’ve been home. It seems like we are forgetting a child! We are afraid those kids are going to dread seeing us again, but we hope they won’t mind seeing us again at Cade’s baptism!

Friday I left Kason with Kolt and went to work.  We did a lot of shopping in the afternoon and helped Natalie and Brady move a few things. We are excited for their new home! We had a great time relaxing today!

On Saturday, I coached my two 10s teams in the morning and then filled in for another coach in the afternoon.  Kolt took Kason in the morning while I was running back and forth, and then he brought Kason to me in the afternoon.  I was grateful to have Jeanna’s help in the morning. I enjoy visiting with her on our breaks.  Kolt took Kason out to watch Paisley for a few hours in the morning.  Kason took a bit of a tumble on Paisley’s walker and was a little weary of standing after that! In the afternoon, Kolt took his mare out and traded her for a 4-year old Palomino gelding.  He is a nice looking horse that Kolt is going to work on this summer.  It was a great trade for us. We are excited to see how he progresses.  As for now, his name is Pedro, but I anticipate a name change in the future! 

On Sunday I played the organ and Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson.  After our block, Kolt and I went to Tyler Ayers’ homecoming talk.  He did a great job. It was great to see the Howard’s, Parker, and other friends.  In the evening, we had a little birthday celebration for Nathan and Evan.  We gave them both a Cars coloring book with stickers.  I think they though it was pretty cool! We are so grateful for our family.  It is crazy to see them grow up so fast!

Last, but not least, here are Kason’s updates: Kason is officially 9-months old! He did great at his 9-month wellness check.  He weighed 22 lbs 1 oz (85%), 31 ½ inches long (99.98%) and has a 86% head.  He had some red goopy eyes before the appointment and found out he had a little pink eye. Within a day of using the drops, he was completely healed.  We are pretty lucky he was so happy during all the sickness. He has really turned the corner these last days.  Kason has learned that life isn’t all about him! Imagine that! He has really been great about learning that lesson; he is such a happy baby and enjoys just going along with the flow for the most part.  He loves watching kids and seeing every move they make. He has learned to eat all kinds of new foods—whatever I was cooking, since I didn’t have time to serve him anything else! He has started eating a lot! He even stood all by himself for a few seconds today! Kason really enjoyed going to Blast-Off.  This kids loves any kind of sports ball.  When I put him in the ball pit, he just froze. He couldn’t believe there were so many of his favorite things. He went crazy trying to pick just one to hold.  The biggest news of the week is that Kason has gone to sleep by himself without crying in his crib for 5 days in a row!  He has even slept almost 9 hours on those nights. That has been a lifesaver for us! It is so rewarding to see him learn and grow.  We are so grateful to have him in our family.

9 MONTHS...Just a few days late!!

-Likes to be held to fall asleep and is determined to either hold my hair or scratch the skin on my neck or pinch the skin on the back of my arm!!! Not my favorite...

-Says Dada and Mama lots 

-Sleeps most nights in his crib from 10-5! We're getting better!

-Waves!! But mostly to himself in the mirror!

-BITES!!

GRE...Check!!!

Kason will be 9 months old next week! He is enjoying eating lots of new foods! He has had some of almost all our dinners this week.  He especially likes feeding himself, although he tends to eat less that way.  He still loves the stairs and the bathroom and now really likes playing in the bottom drawer of his bedroom dresser.  After many bruises and scratches, we think he has just about learned how to go up and down stairs.  He is pretty good about going down the stairs backwards if we remind him.  One time this week he started going down backwards, but got distracted and forgot which direction he was going, so he crawled back up the stairs again.  He likes sitting at the glass doors in Grandma Lindley’s kitchen and looking outside.  He babbles quite a bit.  His favorite sounds are “Mama, Dada, and Nana”.  Last night, he practiced walking with Grandpa Lindley and Dad.  He even took a few steps all by himself! He hasn’t been so successful today though!

This week has been a different week for us with Spring break and both grandparents out of town.  Kolt took the GRE on Friday afternoon, so he spent most of Monday-Thursday studying in a bedroom with the door shut.  It was quite a challenge to leave him uninterrupted! He took lots of practice tests and reviewed all the material on the internet and in the Kaplan GRE book that was recommended from friends.  He went into the exam feeling pretty confident, but feeling a bit of pressure to meet the requirements for ISU.  ISU has one of the higher requirements for the GRE.  He got some quick results back, but gets the full results in 10-15 days.  Our prayers have definitely been answered as he scored well (hopefully well-enough for him to be admitted to ISU for PA school)!

Kason and I spent Monday at work.  On Monday, Kolt actually picked up Nathan from preschool and took him to Natalie’s house.  Kolt and I had a nice evening at home with Kason.  I made Cheesy Chicken Rice for dinner, a recipe I found on Pinterest.  It was a check plus!

Tuesday we had Brooke and Nathan for a couple hours in the morning at our house.  My visiting teachers came over in the morning.  I think she might have thought my house was madness as I had 3 kids in and out during her visit.  Kolt took Nathan and Brooke back to their house for naps.  We picked up Brooke and took her to Walmart and Porter’s for some shopping.  She and Kason were fun to bring along.  They were both happy after their naps! After shopping, we went back to Natalie’s house.  I played outside with Nathan for a little bit and then made Chicken Stir Fry for dinner.  It was a new recipe the Natalie helped me learn. It was delicious! We might even make it again this week! Kolt played with Brooke and Kason inside.  On Tuesday evening, I had volleyball practice with the 10 year olds.  Kason and Kolt came and helped.  Kason took a couple volleyballs to the head—he wasn’t quite sure what he thought about that!

On Wednesday, I went to work with Kason.  Kolt helped me fix my interior light in my car in between studying. I made Supper on a Slice for dinner.  I had fun this week planning my own meals; however, I still don’t know how to cook for 2.  I made enough dinner for an army, so we had it for a couple nights in a row.  Good thing it’s one of Kolt’s favorite dinners!

On Thursday, I watched Brooke during Nathan’s preschool and then took then both home after preschool was over.  It was good practice for me to have 3 kids in the back of the car.  Kason fell asleep right away.  At one point, Brooke screamed because she wanted some of Nathan’s papers.  In trying to convince her not to yell, I mentioned that I might have to make them walk to their house instead of riding in the car.  Nathan thought that was a good idea until I explained that it would not be a “fun” walk like in a stroller, but it would be like a punishment and I would leave them by themselves. Nathan got pretty serious as he asked me, “Susan, why would you leave us all alone? It’s a winter day outside.”  I tried hard not to laugh and realized that I better not make threats that I don’t intend to follow through with.

On Thursday I also picked up a big boy carseat for Kason.  It is a 3-in-one that sits rear-facing, forward-facing, and has a booster.  I have been dreading buying one for a while, but found a good deal on one and decided to do it.  I still like the infant car seats because I can carry him inside places and keep him asleep.  However, he has officially gone over the weight limit in that seat.  We are taking our time in switching over to the new car seat as he still has to be rear-facing until a year, but we are glad we have it, so we can make the transition.  It will also be nice for when we have Kason’s cousins with us. 

Thursday evening we met Landon, Shauna, Paisley, Brand and Rope at Fat Cats in Rexburg to see Divergent.  I won some free passes from winning the volleyball tournament, so we decided to use them. I really liked Divergent and am a bit of a fan right now! Kason is definitely over the age of going to the movies with us.  We spent half of the movie standing in the walkway on the side of the theater and running out when he decided to let out a good yell.  Our last movie we timed right, so Kason slept through it, but we didn’t plan so well for this one! After the movie, we went bowling.  I bowled two strikes in a row and ended up winning! I didn’t really know how I learned to bowl, but I realized that my dad had taken the family bowling a few times growing up and taught us how to do it right. We also bowled at the Earl Lindley Family Reunion for several years when we were younger.  Landon and Shauna took us to Winger’s after bowling which was great since the Winger’s around here are slowly closing down! It will be a sad day when that happens. I sure love that place!

On Friday I took Kason to work and Kolt took his GRE exam.  In the afternoon, I went over to High’s to prepare for the next 10 days watching the kids.  Ashley gave me the details on meals and activities for the week.  Kason stayed with Grandma and played with the cousins.  We are glad that Grandma and Grandpa Lindley are back home! We have missed them! On Friday evening, Kason took a late nap, so we were up late.  I spent the afternoon working on a craft I improvised based on something I saw on Pinterest.  Thank you Bryant for the wood scraps and Natalie for the Cricut! I was super happy with it! Kason was grumpy right in the middle of it, so Kolt actually painted it! It turned out great! Kolt and I also read talks from General Conference.  Our Relief Society challenged us to read the talks from the October conference before the next conference.  I am getting close!

On Saturday, Kolt helped a family in the ward move.  After helping, he came home and did laundry for next week.  Kason and I went to fill in for a coach who couldn’t make it to his 14s tournament in Aberdeen.  It was an eventful day! Thank goodness my dad helped me find it and Kason slept the whole way. I made it just in time for the coaches meeting.  On top of that, I only had 5 girls show up and a couple were pretty late.  They ended up moving the schedule around and letting us play with 5.  We didn’t do very well, but the girls were nice.  Kason was also a good sport and played with another coach’s daughter during one game, sat with one of our moms for another game, and then slept through another game.  It was pretty smooth once we got playing! On Saturday evening, my mom and I watched the General Women’s Meeting at home.   It was a fabulous meeting.  It was neat thinking about women ages 8 and up all around the world watching this conference together.  What a powerful thought! I left feeling motivated to be a better wife and mother and better example to the world.

On Sunday, I played the organ in Sacrament Meeting.  The Carlson’s blessed their new baby.  It was fun to see the Harrigfeld’s visit.  We sure love them and are inspired by their neat family.   I feel pretty lucky to be 3^rd cousins with the Harrigfeld kids.  Kolt taught the Sunday school class. I haven’t been to our class for several weeks. I may have to take them treats when I go next, so they remember me! I filled in for the CTR 5 teacher.  I had 4 cute kids in our class.  We learned about baptism in our class.  As part of our lesson, I showed a picture of Jesus being baptized by John the Baptist. It was covered by 4 pieces of a puzzle that we took off one at a time.  I then did the same thing with the picture of Alma baptizing in the Waters of Mormon.  The last picture was a picture of my dad and I on my baptism day.  It was really neat for me to tell them the story of my baptism day.  I will also remember the walk with my dad to the church on the morning I was baptized.  I really felt his love for me and the Savior’s love for me as I chose to be baptized.  The kids made some comical questions.  One said I looked like a boy in the picture (because my hair was pulled back).  One asked if my dad was dead.  The picture must have looked old. They were pretty confused when I tried to tell them that my dad was the bishop of the ward.  That didn’t make sense to any of them. It was sure a neat class though, and I’m grateful to be able to help in Primary.  I enjoy being around the kids.  After church, we had a nice dinner with the Lindley’s.  Kason loved playing with the cars with the cousins.  We are sure blessed to have great family.

For the next 10 days, we are watching 4 other kids at their home! I hope to get a Family Letter written next Sunday! Wish us luck! We are excited!

The Baby Parade 2013 is Out!

Kason has been learning more and more this week! He figured out that he can reach the keys on the piano this week and has been playing a lot! He is babbling lots more and says “Dada” now most of the day. He usually saves “Mama” for when he really wants something!  He did some more shooting on the basketball hoop in our living room. He figured out that putting it through the hoop got a good reaction, so he was doing it over and over one night this week! He has been playing lots with Nathan and Brooke this week. He loves watching Nathan, and Nathan does a good job of playing with him. Brooke and Kason seem to have a good time together too! He has officially mastered the “zerbit”. He can give some great ones on your cheek! He has been eating more and more solid foods.  He likes to eat fruits and vegetables cut up, so he can feed himself. He also had meatballs this week which he loved!

Kason also had a bit of a hiccup in his sleeping routine last week. He was waking up every hour for a few nights in a row, and we noticed that he was pulling his ear when we got him from his crib.  On top of the runny nose he has had, we suspected he had an ear infection again. We took him in on Monday, but the doctor said his ears look great! He did say though that sometimes the teething can cause a runny nose which can put pressure on the Eustachian tubes at nights.  We are going to blame it on that for now! The good news is that since we knew he wasn’t sick, we could be confident that he is feeling okay. He is now back to his normal sleeping routine from 9ish-5ish. We are more than happy about that! We also got his latest weight at the appointment! He weighs 23 lbs. 2 oz. which is still the 95% and he is still over 100% in height. We are grateful for our big boy!

On Monday, I went into the office with Kason after his appointment. It was a pretty uneventful day without my Monday night volleyball. Tuesday I did lots of housework while Kolt was at school.  I had Brooke and Nathan in the evening and also a little on Thursday to help Natalie as she recovers from her surgery.  I had volleyball practice in the evening. We played the Wave drill to get ready for the games this weekend.  My mom and I watched the finale of our weekly TV show that we have been watching over the winter.  It has been nice to have something to do when it gets dark early, but now that things are warming up, it’s nice to have another open night. We didn’t do much for St. Patrick’s Day, but we did get some pictures and remembered to wear green!

Wednesday I went into work and Kolt had school. Kolt has been helping a classmate study for the upcoming Anatomy and Physiology exam.  Both he and his friend improved drastically on the test last week—so much that his professor asked them both about it.  She suggested that he register to work for the school as a tutor and asked if he would help a few additional students.  I think Kolt is excited about that, and he does a good job at remembering what they are taught.  After work, I did some grocery shopping in town.  Kason was a great sport for a long day.  We dropped his hat somewhere in Walmart, but I’m grateful that someone turned it in, so Kolt could pick it up on his way home.  For dinner, I made a Copycat Olive Garden Chicken & Gnocchi Soup.  It wasn’t exactly a “Check Plus”, but it is fun to try new things, and it was still edible!

On Thursday I printed checks at work. Kolt picked up Kason late in the afternoon. I decided to bring the walker to work this week. Kason had a good time in it and visited many of the other people in the office and even made a trip to the microwave to watch someone cook their lunch. He loves to eat when others are eating. Kason went to Grandma Piquet’s on Thursday evening while Kolt went to Pocatello and I did homework. I was able to get everything done that I needed to before spring break.

On Friday Kolt and I attended the wedding of my cousin, Jeremy Dalling and his wife Natalie Webster.  It was a really nice sealing. We were grateful to be able to attend. Shauna was awesome to watch Kason while we were there. We went back to pick up Kason before the luncheon and stayed to visit a while.  Kason and Paisley have a good time playing with their toys together.  We had a nice luncheon at BYU-I. Natalie, Nathan, Brooke, and Grandma were with us there. Kason sat with Cousin Nichole for a little bit while we dished up! I sure miss Nichole and don’t see her often enough! On Saturday afternoon, I did some homework with my Capsim group over Skype. Kolt took Kason to take Rope to his basketball open gym.  We took Rope to meet Piquet’s at Reagan Streeper’s wedding reception in Ucon. It was a pretty reception, and Reagan and her husband looked happy. After the reception, we had dinner at the Ucon Diner with Grandpa Piquet, Paisley, Shauna, and Rope.  Kason was a good boy and liked sharing some of Mom’s potatoes and Paisley’s grilled cheese sandwich. 

 

On Saturday, Kason and I went to volleyball at the Zone in Rexburg.  It was a long successful day! The girls were a lot more comfortable playing, although we didn’t get any 3-hits this week from either team. Kason spent the day with help from lots of moms. I’m so grateful for help! Kason was a pretty good boy and had fun with some of the girls during our breaks.  Kolt spent the day finishing working on the trailer and studying at the school.  In the evening, we went over to Cameron and Ashley High’s new home.  Cameron and Ashley are going on a trip in 2 weeks for 10 days.  Kolt and I are going to stay at their home and watch 4 of their 5 children.  We babysat on Saturday night to get to know the kids and figure out what we were in for. J The kids were great, and Kolt and I are excited to find out what having 5 kids is like! The biggest plus is that Kason loved being with the kids.  He was completely content to follow them around.  Kolt also played basketball with the older 3 boys and many other kids in the neighborhood for almost 3 hours. He couldn’t complain at all!

On Sunday I played the organ and Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson. I also accompanied a lady in our ward singing in her sister’s ward at 11, so Kolt was lucky enough to get to teach with Kason which was interesting! We had a nice ward conference in our ward.  The musical number went okay considering I got the music this morning.  Good thing Sister Bratt and her sister are very talented. They covered up my mistakes! We had a slow Sunday evening. My parents left for Las Vegas for 5 days, and Kolt’s parents left for Iowa for a week. We are not sure what we are going to do without them this week! It will be an adventure! We sure love our family. We have enjoyed watching the NCAA games this week and watching our brackets fall apart.  It is fun to do the family bracket challenge with our families.  

The Baby Parade 2013 also came out today.  Kason, Kylen and Paisley were in it this year! Kason even got an extra picture inside the front cover for being related to a Post Register employee. I think I will forever pay for forgetting about the photo shoot for the front cover. Since we were late, Kason didn’t get to be part of the big group, but it is fun to see him be mentioned! Every year since I was a little girl, I have looked at the Baby Parade edition from the Post Register. I remember years that I kept it to look at for the entire year until the next year came out. It’s fun to see Kason be part of it now!

The Season Has Begun!!

We have had a warmer spring week! Here’s Kason’s udpates: Kason is a fast crawler! He sneaks into the bathroom and up the stairs every time I take my eye of him. He is getting lots more dark hair. He loves to give kisses to Grandma Lindley and in the last couple weeks started giving them pretty freely to anyone who wants one! They are GOOD kisses! He loves to clap his hands. He waves, but mostly only to his reflection in the window or at himself in the mirror.  He loves to go on walks outside in the stroller with anyone who is willing to take him.  He is an outside boy like his dad! He has been quite the eater lately and a great sleeper. Not too much to complain about that way! We sure love him. He is the joy of our lives!

On Monday, I made a mini-couponing trip to see how much I liked it. I learned that it’s not very fun to do alone. I also learned that it’s much better to buy the deals in bulk. I also learned that it’s a good idea to do the homework by yourself because prices are different everywhere. I ended up getting 11 items for around $13.  It may take a few weeks to do it again. Once school gets over, I will have much more time to do the homework before the weekly couponing trip. Kason came to work with me while I printed checks at work. Kolt studied all morning for his test at 1.  Monday evening we played our last 2 games of the volleyball tournament at The Zone.  We won both and won my second championship in a row there! We missed Natalie who got surgery on Monday! Grandma Piquet, Shauna & Paisley even came to watch! It was really fun! I’m going to miss that weekly volleyball!

On Tuesday I did made a visiting teaching visit early in the morning, then rushed home because Lexi Schiess  was at my house! Lexi played with me at Western and is one of the neatest people I have ever met! She is probably the only person who can quote the movie She’s The Man better than I can!  We talked and talked for almost 6 hours. We barely got lunch in before she had to go. Kason loved Lexi and her husband Brenn when he got there! It was a super fun day! On Tuesday evening, I had volleyball practice with the 10 year olds. It was a busy practice trying to teach the girls how to play 6 on 6 before the tournament on Saturday. I am grateful for Jeanna to help me!

On Wednesday, I spent the day doing homework. Kolt and I met at our Life Insurance Agent’s office in the afternoon to finalize our policy.  We left a note on Grandma Piquet’s car while she was at work just across the street from the office.  As we drove out, we passed her! Later in the afternoon, Kason and I went swimming in the hot tub. It’s more of a “warm” tub now since we turned it down, so it’s not so hot for Kason. He loved swimming. He splashed and splashed and kept trying to drink the water. We are hoping to do that a lot this summer. 

On Thursday I went to work for a few hours. Grandma Piquet, Rope & Brand picked up Kason on the way home. He went for walks, watched the boys play basketball outside, went to Relief Society with Grandma, ate soup with Grandpa and took a bath with Grandma. He sure loves his Grandma & Grandpa Piquet! Kolt had a GRE Prep Session offered through ISU and played basketball at the Milo Church house, and I had my Thursday night class. 

Friday I went to work and left Kason home with Kolt, and then took an exam in the evening. Kason went to Natalie’s house with Grandma Lindley. He loves being with Grandma Lindley! We went over to pick him up. Grandpa Lindley made waffles for dinner. We did a little shopping in the evening.

On Saturday, Kason and I left at 6 for Teton High School. We spent the day in the gym. The first tournament was a success! One team got 2 3-hits over the net, and the other team got 2 3-hits but none of them went over. It was a fun day. Kason was a great sport for such a long day! Kolt spent the day helping his Grandpa, stacking hay, and working on my parents’ horse trailer. In the evening, Kason and I went shopping with Grandma Piquet, Shauna & Paisley for some Easter outfits for Kason and Paisley’s pictures together in a week. We got the cutest matching outfits for pictures! I can’t wait! We hit Arctic Circle for dinner and ice cream. I even shared a little bit of my ice cream with Kason. He was more than thrilled about that! 

Sunday was a busy day at church for the Piquet’s! Thank you Grandma Lindley for helping us! I played the organ, Kolt taught the Sunday school lesson, I subbed as chorister in Primary, and Kolt helped teach the Sharing Time lesson in Primary as well. I learned one thing from today! I look up to Primary choristers! That is one tough job! We sure have a good one in our ward! I am thankful for Sister Braithwaite for getting everything ready for me beforehand! I didn’t have to do much, but it is definitely out of my comfort zone! Kolt did a good job teaching at Joseph Smith as well.  After church, we went to choir practice. We had a yummy dinner with the Lindley’s. Kason played with Nathan and Brooke for a while in the evening and then went on a walk with Grandpa & Grandma Lindley.
